HVS Early College Acceptances Announced

Harlemville, NY --- Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School is proud to announce the first round of early college acceptances for the class of 2012.  Canaan Breiss of Egremont, MA was accepted early decision to Swarthmore College with a full scholarship.  This was Canaan’s first choice school and he is tremendously excited. His interests are varied and he will be studying linguistics, literature, history, and political science as well as continuing to pursue his cello and martial arts interests.

Hannah Otten of Kinderhook, NY was accepted early decision to Bates College with a generous scholarship.  She is delighted to be heading north to Maine in the Fall and will be pursuing varied interests including Mathematics, French, and Literature.  Hannah, an avid fiddler, contra-dancer, and caller, plans to be involved in Bates’ noted Freewill Folk Society.

Three additional seniors have received early action acceptances. Jaclyn Sanders of Ghent, NY has been accepted to Eckerd College in Florida – her first choice college – where she plans to study marine biology.  Levin Garbisch of Ghent, NY has been accepted to Ringling College. Wherever he goes to study, Levin will pursue film studies.  Emily DeGeyter of Ghent, NY has been accepted to Drexel University. She will pursue writing and literature studies among other interests at her college of choice. Congratulations to our early accepted seniors!
