High School Prom

This year's Prom theme is “Venetian Masquerade Ball on the Hudson”. T It will take place on the Spirit of the Hudson, a chartered party boat which will depart from the boat dock at the new park in Hudson. The boat will leave promptly at 7:30 pm so we ask that students arrive early.   Tickets are $40 which includes a DJ and unlimited soft drinks.  Traditionally, the Prom is hosted by the 11th graders. They will be decorating the boat and are planning dance contests, awards and prizes to keep the fun going once we are on board.

For those of you new to our Prom, we promote this event as an all-inclusive, all high school students event.  It is the most fun when there is 100% attendance. There is no pressure to bring a date, but students can bring a friend from another school. We just ask that their parent’s contact information is given to Mr. Cronin before the Prom.  Dress is semi-formal to formal, and most of our students make an effort to wear something extra special.  To help students create a Venetian style mask, Ms. Stone and Mrs. Klavun will be devoting time during arts to mask making.  These materials are included in the ticket price.

We are asking for parents to volunteer to provide snacks and finger food.  The students always welcome sandwiches, veggies and dip, cookies, desserts, chips and salsa, whatever you are able to provide.  All that dancing makes for hungry high schoolers!  Please email me at: lstone@hawthornevalleyschool.org if you can prepare a platter of food.

Tickets can be purchased through Ms. Schmolz in the main office. The price is $40.  If this is at all a hardship for your family, please contact John Cronin.
