Help Your Child Plan Ahead
One of the things we all love about the Hawthorne Valley community is the diversity of activities that children, faculty, and staff all get to engage in through the school. Whether it's academic study, art, music, sports, a play, a tutoring session, cooking, eating, dancing, farming, making, doing, exploring, or playing; there's almost always something exciting, on or off the schedule, to do next. Therefore, a request to all parents and students: as much as possible, anticipate what will be needed for the day and bring it (or sent it with your child) with you! If it's cold, it's gloves and a hat. Or perhaps you play an instrument or are on a sports team. Be sure to anticipate and bring everything you need for that day and after school activities. There's a lot to keep track of, from the basics (lunch, snack, homework), to the less obvious (home and away jerseys, instruments, sheet music, rain gear, extra cupcakes for the athletics director and administrative staff, a large wheel-barrow to haul this all around in). We'll do our best to let you know what's needed so you can plan ahead!
