May Day Celebration and Spring Faire

Spring Faire GraphicJoin us this Saturday, May 2nd for Hawthorne Valley’s annual May Day Celebration & Spring Faire. Students from Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School will perform traditional May Day dances at 10:30. The Spring Faire follows from 11:30 to 3:30, with games and activities for kids, puppet shows, student exhibits, artisan craft vendors, live music, and tasty treats.

The Acorn Players student troupe will perform the puppet show ‘The King of Togo Togo’ in the Morningstar Kindergarten. Performances are at 1:00 and 2:00 pm. Tickets cost $4 per person.

Children under 5 years of age will have fun with games, bubbles, face painting and more in the Kindergarten yard. For older kids there will be a banana pole, hay jump, sack races, zip line, boat races, and an obstacle course. Passes for activities cost $5.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner – find your mom a nice gift at one of the artisan vendors stalls. Markristo Farms will have vegetable and flower seedlings for your garden. Beautiful handcrafted wares will be available from Tom Kenny Wood Bowls, Clinton Pottery, Artemis Wool, and the Violet Flame Candle Company  Pick up a wooden sword and dress-up accessories for the kids at Von Pogz, and some delicious maple cotton candy from Maple Leaf Sugaring or ice cream from Blue Marble for a sweet treat.

Enjoy a delicious organic lunch in the food hall or at the Farm Store. Pizzas and flatbreads, lemonade, ice cream, and baked goods will also be for sale at the Faire.

A sunny day is forecast for Saturday, so bring the family for a day of fun!
