Halloween Celebration

A favorite festival at Hawthorne Valley is our Halloween celebration, created for families with young children. Join us in costume for an evening of magic and mystery. Families are invited to follow the Jack-O-Lantern path to visit Baba Yaga, answer the riddles of the Forest Wizard, roast a marshmallow by the bonfire, visit Mother Earth’s fairy garden, and enjoy a puppet show! This year we will perform the Grimm’s story of Jorinda and Joringel – a tale of faithful love’s ability to free enchantment.

Puppet performances will be at 6 and 7 pm in the School Hall. Admission of $4 helps to fund the evening’s festivities.

Kindergarten families have (oh so kindly!) baked cookies for Baba Yaga to share at our festival. Jack-O-Lantern carving for children and parents to help prepare for the festival will happen at 1 pm on Thursday, October 30 outside of the teaching kitchen at the school – come and join in the fun! Help to create this event – please call 672-7092 x 103 and leave a message. Thank you!
