Grade 10 Play: You Can’t Take It With You
Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School’s 10th grade warmly invites you to attend a performance of You Can’t Take It With You. Directed by Eric Müller and David Anderson, this comedy by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart is just as funny today as it was when it opened on Broadway in 1936. A cast of eccentric characters fill the stage, from patriarch Grandpa Vanderhof, who keeps snakes and has never paid his income tax, to his granddaughter Essie Sycamore Carmichael, who dreams of being a ballerina (although she is quite a terrible dancer). Throw in the straight-laced Kirbys, a few G-men, and a Russian Grand Dutchess who is working as a waitress in the United States, and you have a delightful evening of fun for your whole family!
